Our land

This timeless land provides us with precious ingredients which we combine in our very own style, remaining close to traditional values while also expressing other new ones.

Our vineyards

Our vineyards in Fuenmayor have a variety of environmental conditions and different plots of land where we cultivate Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo grapes. Plots of Viura grapes are selectively distributed across the middle strip of the land.

This is our ecosystem. This is our earth.

Origen

Origin

Fuenmayor

The topography of the vineyard in Fuenmayor is highly irregular, providing a range of altitudes, a large variety of soils and different geographical orientations. This broad range of conditions creates a variety of microclimates and provides the earth with a fabulous creativity: the same variety of grape can express itself in very different ways.

Control

Looking after what matters most

The vineyard is a living being which we guard carefully and monitor closely. We take great care in all of the elements involved in each plot: the pruning, the evolution of the growth cycle and the onset of maturity. After this, we taste the grapes and decide on the exact time for harvest.

Denominación de origen

Denomination of Origin

A distinctive style

La The Rioja Denomination of Origin has adapted well to the tastes of consumers without losing its distinct identity, preserving the varieties that make it truly unique. Different styles of wine exist within this denomination but the Rioja stamp is always instantly recognisable.

"This land is like a dream... a dream shared by each and every person that has made their own contribution to the project” Elena Adell

The grapes game

We have hundreds of hectares of vineyards. Different varieties of grape are cultivated in environmental conditions which vary depending on the composition, altitude and orientation of the land. This provides us with a creative blend, based on different expressions of Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo and Viura grapes. A fascinating game with the most traditional grapes in La Rioja.

Tempranillo

Tempranillo

Considered to be the Spanish grape par excellence, the Tempranillo grape is present in the majority of Denomination of Origin wines and in regions producing Vino de la Tierra wines. It has almost 30 different names but these are all synonymous with Tempranillo. It is the main grape of La Rioja, occupying a cultivation area of 31,000 hectares which represents 61% of the Rioja Denomination of Origin.

Graciano

Graciano

The origins of the Graciano grape are unclear, but it is believed that it first appeared in La Rioja. It is one of the varieties that makes up the typical blend of this Denomination of Origin, providing structure and potential for aging.

Mazuelo

Mazuelo

Although originating from Aragón (Cariñena), Mazuelo is another grape which has a strong influence on the identity of Rioja blends. Although when used alone it produces wines of a high alcoholic content, when combined with Tempranillo and Graciano grapes it creates well-structured wines which are perfect for aging.

Viura

Viura

Known in other Spanish wine-producing regions as Macabeo, it is the most frequently-cultivated white variety of the Rioja Denomination of Origin. Grown with care, it provides us with a moderately alcoholic must and an adequate acidity, enabling us to create well-balanced wines with noticeable floral and fruity notes. Perfect wines for drinking early on, yet also lending themselves well to vintage.
